Manchester Girl Geek Dinner 7 March 9, 2011

We’re delighted to announce that the 7th Manchester Girl Geek Dinner will take place in the week of International Women’s Day. Short talks by some of our favourite girl geeks, along with free drinks and nibbles. Maria McDade, a manager at IBM UK, will talk about the company’s activities in engaging women to pursue a career in technology and their recent ‘Women in Technology’ events. Louise Maddison is a research student at Manchester University and won this year’s ‘Junk the Jargon’ competition with her talk ‘How computers can find a cure for cancer’. Hwa Young Jung, one of the founders of MadLab, will give us an insight into her work in setting up and running one of Manchester’s most exciting collaboration spaces for the geek community.
