UNIVERSITI MALAYA
KUALA LUMPUR, Kuala Lumpur 50603

Malam Kesenian is an annual programme organized by Tamil Language Society (TLS) of University of Malaya Kuala Lumpur. Malam Kesenian is also a way to introduce and preserve the culture and arts of Malaysian Indians' among the students in the University. This event indirectly leads to a better integration among the multi-racial students in University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur. This program is being performed by the members of Tamil Language Society and includes adequate combinations of songs, dances and drama. These performances are 100% performed by the students of UM, without any guest artistes or performers from outside campus. This year our event will be held on the 7th of March 2008 at our glorious and much anticipated Dewan Tunku Canselor, University of Malaya.
Malam Kesenian contributed a large amount of its profits to fund for the upcoming projects of Tamil Language Society (TLS). Throught out the year, we will be conducting programs such as Family Day in collaboration with Hindu Society University of Malaya, Intervarsity Debate Competition, Intervarsity Football Competition, Student Service Corp, Leadership Camp, Annual Book Launching, and many more. Every year without fail, a sum of the profit made out of this show is given away as means to help the Indian community, normally students whose families struggle to make ends meet, and also to develop impoverished Tamil schools. With that, the programme achieved its aim to offer sincere help to those who really deserve it. The Malam Kesenian programme continues to generate good leadership qualities among the young undergraduates of University of Malaya.
The fund for this event is gained through ticket selling, donation drive and sponsorships. Ticket price is between RM10, RM20 and RM50. For more information regarding Malam Kesenian, feel free to contact the board members of Tamil Language Society of the Secretariat of Malam Kesenian:
