On Friday 1 July, New Consumer, the UK's Fairtrade lifestyle magazine, is holding a spectacular Fairtrade Gathering: World Music Concert with enlightening Fairtrade talks.

The music line up includes, the much awaited Candido Fabre y su banda in their first visit to Scotland, plus our own Zuba, Poor Old Ben, The Ruffness and Orkestra del Sol.

To spark off a week of anti-poverty G8 activities in Edinburgh, world-renowned celebrity and longtime Fairtrade campaigner, Bianca Jagger, will fly into Edinburgh especially for the concert to deliver an inspired speech.

Combined with addresses from Fairtrade coffee producers from the South; Harriet Lamb, Director of the Fairtrade Foundation and founder New Consumer, Mel Young; the Fairtrade Gathering will inspire the crowds heading for Edinburgh just before the G8 Summit in Gleneagles when Africa will be a key agenda item for discussion.

The Fairtrade Gathering: New Consumer World Music Concert also has the support of the Make Poverty History campaign.
