Maija Isola ? life, art, Marimekko

From: http://www.designmuseo.fi/main.asp?sid=2&sivu=18&kpl=14&show=1

"During the 1950s and 1960s, interior textiles by Maija Isola (1927-2001)caused a revolution in Finnish homes, and today they are more widely known than ever before, both in Finland and abroad. Isola?s beloved Poppy design from the 1960s has found its way into a wide range of uses and contexts. Less known, however, is the designer behind the patterns and her role as a visual artist. Teeming with colour, this extensive exhibition at Design Museum tells of the life and work of Maija Isola and her achievements as a textile designer with Marimekko for many years and as a freelance artist and designer."
