Students will be introduced to the many fascinating phenomena of magnetism in this hands on workshop. Concepts covered include where magnets come from, magnetic fields, levitation and repulsion of like magnetic poles, using magnets to produce an electric current, and how magnets are used in many machines and applications. Students will get to make their own compass, magnetic pendulum and investigate how to make an electromagnet. This course is suitable for Year 5 to 6 Students.
