Ranga Shankara Presents The Magic Drum is an original adaptation for the stage by BLT based on the book of folk tales compiled by Sudha Murthy. The folk tales are drawn from many lands. Funny tales, racy tales, tales of wise men, foolish men, evil men, the smart women, clever girls, and the hapless kings, the princes, princesses, the hip minstrels, the snappy jesters and all those animals. The production is in partnership with Dream a Dream, that has programmes in education and life skills development for disadvantaged children. BLT has Sudha Murthy's exclusive permission to dramatise the stories form her book for this DAD-BLT production. The Magic Drum is a family entertainer as well as a play for children. it will reach the general public in evening shows, and school children in morning/afternoon shows.
