"In the face of dwindling circulation numbers the major magazine and newspaper brands are increasingly investing in their online properties after years of hesitation and experimentation. Yet on the web they confront even more complex challenges, especially in the form of competition from aggregators, independent publishing, social media, and local and niche outlets. In the face of this ever-evolving landscape, how should these long-standing businesses represent their brands online?
