Aluna Theatre is pleased to present the world premiere of Madre, a moving and timely new work by Dora-nominated playwright Beatriz Pizano. Set in war-torn Colombia, Madre is a multi-media theatrical memoir that explores an aging woman’s struggle with early Alzheimer’s, her conflicted relationship with her adopted daughter in Canada, and boldly asks, “If we are memory, what happens when we cannot remember?” Reverberating with questions of identity, survival, and what it means to be a mother or daughter, Madre runs January 29-February 17 at Theatre Passe Muraille’s Backspace. For tickets to this poignant new work, call the box office at 416-504-7529 or visit alunatheatre.ca for more information.
