Made in Chicago - World Class Jazz: Sketches of Brazil: Robert Irving III's Orchestral Homage to Miles Davis and Gil Evans August 13, 2009

Composer/pianist Robert Irving III presents the world-premiere of his orchestral homage to his mentors, Miles Davis and Gil Evans’ on the 50th anniversary of the recording of pair’s classic, “Sketches of Spain.”  Featuring principle trumpet soloist, Wallace Roney, with special guest classical guitarist, Fareed Haque and Brazilian percussionist, Dede Sampaio.

Every Made in Chicago: World Class Jazz concert kicks off with aspiring musicians from Chicago-area high schools, as part of the Jazz Institute of Chicago’s Jazz Links Educational Program.
