THE KNF CO HOSTS MAD AS A WET HEN, AN EVENING OF TOMFOOLERY AND MAYHEM AT THE TRIAD size

(New York, NY) – On May 2nd, 2009, variety stars from all over the city will convene on The Triad’s intimate stage in support of The KNF Co and their production of BIRD HOUSE, a multimedia theatre project written by Kate Marks and directed by Heidi Handelsman, opening in July at Theater 3.

Mad as a Wet Hen boasts an evening of performances by favorite local acts, such as cabaret star Teresa Fischer; hoop dancer Firefly; Billy the Id and Cherry Pitz from the Hotsy Totsy Burlesque; alt-rocker Pauline Pisano; Louie Pearlman and his Ukulele; burlesque sweetheart Reckless Abandon; sultry singer Brooke B. Johns; clown John Leo; magician Gene Silvers, and much, much more! The astonishing and verbose Miss Roxy Contin will emcee.

Presented by The KNF Co, a partnership of independent producers with the shared objective to develop and present plays that evoke the magic of everyday life, BIRD HOUSE is a fantastical story of love, loyalty, loss, and what it means to do the right thing. Set on the precipice of two worlds colliding – where cuckoo clock birds talk, furniture blows by in the wind, and ants form armies – BIRD HOUSE combines multimedia with clowning and puppetry to create a haunting echo of our own tumultuous times.

All proceeds from Mad as a Wet Hen will go toward helping the producing artists behind BIRD HOUSE mount this important and ambitious project. Donations can be made online at http://birdhousetheplay.wordpress.com/donate.

Mad as a Wet Hen will be performed on Saturday, May 2nd, 9:00pm, at The Triad (158 West 72nd Street, Manhattan). Tickets are on sale at www.brownpapertickets.com. $18 in advance, $20 at the door. Two drink minimum.
