The first sight of Machu Picchu is almost magical, the temples, fields, terraces, and baths appear to be part of the hillside itself...an imposing, elegant green paradise carved into its natural surroundings. Join our fully escorted singles group and explore a most unique part of the world. Our Singles Explorer starts in Lima, the former Spanish capital of all of South America and you'll have an opportunity to explore Cusco, capital of the Inca Empire, and see all it's magnificent Spanish colonial and Inca architecture.
If you choose to hike the Inca trail, you will walk the same route through the Andes mountains that the Incas used long ago. In the process you will be able to explore old ruins, camp and hike in the beautiful Andes mountains, and hike right into Machu Picchu. We will tour Machu Picchu for a full day.
If you choose to take the train up to Machu Picchu instead of the camping, we will visit famous markets like the Pisac Indian Market, explore ancient salt mines, and enjoy spectacular mountain vistas of the Andes during day hikes and tours. We will enjoy the hot springs at Aguas Calientes, and of course tour the world famous site of Machu Picchu- all the while experiencing the unique Andean culture that distinguishes this part of the world.

We are offering two simultaneous versions of our Peru Inca Explorer. Itinerary #1 includes a 4 day hike of the Inca Trail with 3 nights of camping. Itinerary #2 includes a scenic train ride and hotel stays in place of the camping, as well as other day hikes and tours.
Both are unique but offer different experiences... choose the best option based on your travel preferences. With both options, we will have opportunities to partake in adventure activities such as white water rafting, hiking, or mountain biking as the region offers ample outdoor sport options. In short we will get a real taste of Peru covering both its physical beauty and cultural highlights.
