The third production of City Lit Theater's thirtieth anniversary 2009-2010 season, William Shakespeare's 'Macbeth,' features City Lit Associate Artistic Director Cameron Feagin and is directed by Susan Hart. 'Macbeth' is Shakespeare's most terrifying tragedy. A century ago the critic A. C. Bradley compared the play to "a black night broken by flashes of light and color. And, above all, the color is the color of blood." The world of 'Macbeth' contains witches and a ghost, but the power of its terror lies in the human capacity for murder, ruthless ambition and heartless betrayal. "By the pricking of my thumbs, something wicked this way comes," says one of the witches; what she sees approaching is a man.
