Metal Arts Association of Silicon Valley (MAASV) presents:

Gemstones - More Than Just Bling
-- A presentation by Wendy Bilodeau, GIA Graduate Gemologist
Here’s an opportunity to learn that gemstones are more than just a bunch of bling. Wendy Bilodeau will address and discuss questions like, “How big is a carat? How can I confidently buy gemstones? Do certain types of cuts affect the weight? Are there references sources available? What are the gemological tools used to evaluate a gemstone? What do I need to look for when purchasing a gemstone?” Wendy will also share about the jewelry and lapidary resources and services available at Wenrics.

About the presenter:
Wendy Bilodeau began her interest in stones as a child, finding treasures at her feet in the form of interesting pebbles and shells. To this day she walks with eyes downcast to see what treasures nature has left to be discovered. She received her Gemological Institute of America (G.I.A.) diploma as a Graduate Gemologist in 1996. Wendy and her husband, Rick, own and operate jewelry and lapidary store, Wenrics (http://www.wenrics.com/) in San Jose, CA.
