What happens when religious faith goes beyond the safe confines of temple gates and lands up like an unexpected guest in your living room? How many people have the strength to actually put their faith into practice? A story about the spiritual awakening of the protagonist and man-about-town Rohan Mehta... Rohan is a handsome and lively young man who is born into a devout Jain family. While he adores his parents Dhansuk and Savita, he is constantly at loggerheads with his mother over the futility of religious rituals in everyday life. Rohan is more secular in his approach and not surprisingly falls in love with a vivacious, Sindhi girl named Sonia Lalwani. Their ensuing marriage causes a great deal of conflict in the family but through it all, Rohan's sister Manasi remains Rohan's greatest supporter and friend. Even as Sonia tries her hardest to win over the family and embrace Jainism, a dramatic turn of events makes Rohan question not only what he believed in his whole life but also what he has ardently disbelieved in. Faced with life's unpredictability, Rohan must make choices that will forever change his relationship with his family. The play is conceived by Rajendra Butala and features music by Iqbal Darbar, lyrics by Sheela Butala and playback by Jaaved Ali.
