Who’s MAAD?
It can be you, or me, as long as we belong to the Market of Artists And Designers. Yup, you heard right. Market! Not just exhibition. You can buy the original artworks you fancy in the only recurring weekend market for art, music, media, design, fashion and innovation in Singapore. We are always there (or rather, here!) for you on every first weekend of the month at the red hot red dot design museum. It’s the new weekend shopping frenzy.

What made us MAAD?
Well, it’s good to start a market for original creative works, serve as an platform for budding artists and designers to test and sell their creative works. With MAAD, you can be connected with professional artists and designers. And hey, you now have another alternative to weekend shopping! Last but not least, who would mind a more pro-creative culture in Singapore?

Why should you go MAAD?
Because we’re the only original design and artworks market, that’s why. And this is a grassroots initiative to promote the arts and creative entrepreneurship. AND our curators who filter submissions (to uphold the aesthetic standard!) are renowned and qualified artists and designers themselves like Wykidd Song, Founder of Song+Kelly, Ban Y J, Founder of Stikfas, Kelly Cheng, editor of iSH magazine an Ketna Patel, an asian pop-art artist. Wow, now the question is how can you not go MAAD?!

The MAAD factors
Main players – stalls for creative works by various artists and designers, of course. Think graphic artists, product designers, street artists and fashion designers gathered together. What a scene! In every MAAD, you can expect something more than just weaving through the market. Possibilities like an architect building a model home, painter Sarkasi Said painting batik on the spot, short films being screened, a composer singing his self-compositions, a photographer sharing his photography tips, a design and art clinic, and an exhibition by local and visiting artists and designers to showcase their achievements. “It’s not that hard to imagine.”

The MAAD house
Reading so far down means you’re really interested in making your way down, huh? Alright then, we’re situated at red dot Traffic building, 28 Maxwell Road. Yes, perpendicular to Robinson Road. And maybe even a stone’s fling from your office. You will never look at Maxwell in the same light again! Never brighter. *beams*
