The French stargazers take a break from their arena tour supporting Kings Of Leon for this one-off headline show in the beautiful Henry Flitcoft-designed Palladian-style surroundings of St Giles-In-The-Fields Church (a personal favourite of none other than Patti Smith). Never has a venue been so appropriate for the heavenly noise created by Anthony Gonzalez and his band; widescreen soundscapes collide with dance beats and – especially on most recent album ‘Saturdays=Youth’ – ’80s-style pop songs that mix the teen angst of a John Hughes movie with the otherworldliness of the Cocteau Twins and the glacial genius of New Order.
