Lyrics Born (Tsutomu "Tom" Shimura) is the son of the Japanese author Tako Shimura. He grew up in Berkley, CA and is a Japanese American rapper, record producer, songwriter and voice over announcer. In 1993, Lyrics Born released his first single 'Send Them,' under the name Asia Born. Three years later he formed the group Latyrx with fellow Bay-Area native, Lateef The Truthspeaker. Many albums and tours later, the musician is becoming known for currently voicing bumpers for 'Star Wars: The Clone Wars,' 'Batman,' 'The Secret Saturdays,' 'Ben 10: Alien Force' and more.
