The Evanston Public Library’s annual series of Lyric Opera lectures continues at the Main Library on Saturday, October 27, at 2 p.m., with a lecture by John Kohlmeier on George Frideric Handel’s Julius Caesar. After Caesar becomes Rome's supreme ruler, he sets his sights on Egypt. The beautiful Cleopatra sets her sights on Caesar -- the man who can return her to the Egyptian throne. The lecture on Julius Caesar will be repeated on Tuesday, November 6, at Noon by Kip Kelly at North Branch.
