201 E. Randolph Street
Chicago, Illinois

Cathy Maloney, Author and Senior Editor of Chicagoland Gardening magazine, collaborates with the Lurie Garden staff to discuss the history of gardens in Chicago from swampy outpost to the city's adopted motto "Urbs in Horto". Also in this lecture, Cathy Maloney illustrates how this upstart town earned its sobriquet over the next century, from the first vegetable plots at Fort Dearborn to innovative garden designs at the 1933 World's Fair.

All lectures take place at the Chicago Cultural Center, 78 E. Washington St., Chicago 60602, 5th Floor Millennium Park Room and are free and open to the public.
