Melbourne, Australia’s acoustic duo LULUC are now settled into their new life as residents of Brooklyn, NY, and are busily writing their second album, following the success of their debut Dear Hamlyn, which spawned tracks such as 'I Found You' and 'One Day Soon' that have featured in the ABC TV series Grey's Anatomy.
Now regular performers on the NY scene, with regular residencies at Piano’s and numerous other venues, Luluc have just made their UK debut this May at The Great Escape festival, performing on the MOJO magazine stage and at London’s Cargo.
These two Los Angeles shows will be their first LA shows for 2011, previewing new material from their forthcoming album.
Since the release of their debut Dear Hamlyn, Luluc has played major UK, Australian and Canadian festivals and been hand picked to tour with Fleet Foxes, Jose Gonzalez, Lucinda Williams and Australia’s best-selling neo-folk siblings Angus & Julia Stone. In 2010 they featured at CMJ and NxNE, as well as Vancouver and Winnipeg Folk Festivals.

Songs pared down to an essential core, the gentle, yearning folk music of Luluc’s Zoë Randell and Steve Hassett has an austere and unadorned beauty. Like a whisper or a caress, Luluc hold their audiences entranced. Zoë’s unique alto is central and provides a strikingly beautiful counterpoint to her nylon guitar. Exquisite melodies are accentuated by Steve's close vocal harmony and guitar accompaniment. Together they create a rich and deeply affecting sound.
