"The New Voice of Brazil" - NPR's All Things Considered
"Maita can set a love song to a martial arts rhythm; evoke harsh realities of ghetto life with gentleness and dry-eyed humanity; and most of all, use her fluid versatile voice and a rich musical heritage - from samba to jazz and pop - to make it all feel like one coherent whole. If Maita keeps making records this good, she could well be on her way to international stardom.”
- NPR’S ALL THINGS CONSIDERED

Luísa Maita, hailed by NPR's All Things Considered as "The New Voice of Brazil", will tour the US, Canada and Mexico this November. The tour, which starts on November 3rd in New York City, brings the acclaimed singer to major venues across the continent, and marks the first time the São Paulo native has toured outside of Brazil.

Luísa Maita has exploded onto the international music scene since the release of her debut album Lero-Lero, released on Cumbancha Discovery this summer. Within a week of the release, Lero-Lero skyrocketed to #1 on the iTunes Latin chart and #1 on Amazon's Latin Bestseller chart. Critics from National Public Radio to Huffington Post and Rolling Stone Brazil and influential tastemaker blogs have welcomed Luísa as a fresh new talent in Brazilian music. Influential radio programs such as KCRW's Morning Becomes Eclectic and WBEZ's Radio M have also become enchanted with Luisa's voice, featuring her music and driving the album up the charts. One clear indication of success is that Luísa's album was released in the US on the same day as Brazilian superstar Seu Jorge's latest, yet despite her lesser name recognition, Luísa's album has consistently out sold Seu Jorge's new album on the iTunes Latino chart.
