Take a tour of Lower Manhattan to celebrate Harbor Day Weekend, marking the 400th anniversary of Henry Hudson's arrival in Manhattan. This walk will explore some Dutch, British and colonial origins of New York, from Bowling Green and Trinity Churchyard to Federal Hall. Along the way, a pause to remember the neighborhood's resistance during Sept. 11, with stops at St. Peter and St. Paul Churches, which served as aid stations for rescuers; Ground Zero; and the building where Mayor Guiliani viewed the tragedy. The tour ends at Battery Park, where on Sunday the Harbor Day fleet enters with a colorful assortment of historic Dutch and American yachts and sailboats, including a replica of the Halve Maen (the Dutch ship that moored on Manhattan in 1609).
