Scott and Kim McClelland take the stage together this summer for the first time since 1996. Back then it was for a comic two-hander called Wrong for Each Other. This time the Roadhouse directors have developed a wonderful evening of theatre for anyone whos ever been in love.

The McClellands met 20 years ago in the summer of 1987 at the Erie Playhouse. As a way of celebrating their life in the theatre, they have created Lovers Haters & Others. The show is homage to the great love affairs written for the stage. Classic and poetic love stories will be paired with epic vicious battles between famous characters from theatrical history.

Unforgettable scenes from carefully selected plays will be presented by the duo, many of them drawn from the 20 year history of the Roadhouse Theatre. Among those shows will be Richard III, Death of a Salesman, Come Back Little Sheeba, The Lion in Winter, Whose Afraid of Virginia Woolf, Fool for Love and Betrayal.

Works from the Theatre of the Absurd will also be represented by The Bald Soprano and the now infamous play The Beard. Contemporary theatre gets nod with a scene from Warren Lieghts play Sideman. The evening will also include selections from works by Tennessee Williams a playwright whose work the McClellands have treasured all their lives.

So propose an evening of theatre to your sweetheart this summer and make reservations to see Lovers Haters & Others.
