Love and Other Demons First Night August 10, 2008

Love and Other Demons is a story of forbidden love set in the tropical and magical world of 18th century Colombia, adapted from the novella by Nobel-prizewinner, Gabriel García Márquez.This is the world premiere of a new opera by Peter Eötvös, one of the most widely commissioned opera composers in Europe. It is the first major production of any of his operas in the UK. Vladimir Jurowski will conduct the London Philharmonic with soprano Marisol Montalvo in her Glyndebourne debut as Sierva, and Nathan Gunn as Father Delaura.
