The Welsh nu-metal band Lostprophets formed in 1997, garnering attention from the metal magazine Kerrang! after hearing a demo tape. They eventually recorded their debut album 'The Fake Sound of Progress' in July 2000. Their live following exploded after supporting such acts as Linea 77, Taproot, Pitchshifter, Linkin Park, and the Deftones. They reached the U.S. after signing with Columbia in 2001, working with producer Eric Valentine (of Queens of the Stone Age and Good Charlotte fame) to record their second full-length. Their latest, 'Start Something,' arrived in February 2004.
