This is the tale of two young teenage boys left in the care of their stone-hearted grandmother and gentle childlike aunt, in 1942 Yonkers. Warm and deeply humane, by turns heartbreaking and devastatingly funny, 'Lost in Yonkers' is considered by many to be Simon's best play. It was a winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the Tony Award for Best Play.
