Talk about good deals! For little more than $2 per concert, college students across the Southland can purchase an All Access Pass through the “Campus to Concert Hall” program that can be used for a ticket to 11 Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra (LACO) performances during the 2011-12 season. LACO kicks off this year's popular “Campus to Concert Hall” program with “Plugged In,” a free reception and concert on Tuesday, September 20, 2011, 8 pm, at KPCC’s The Crawford Family Forum in Pasadena. The event, which is open to the general public and includes refreshments, features a season preview performance by three leading classical/pop cross-over musicians whose artistry will be showcased during LACO's season: LACO Composer-in-Residence Derek Bermel, clarinet; LACO’s 2011-12 “Sound Investment” composer, Timothy Andres, piano; and Wiek Hijmans, electric guitar, who is the featured soloist at LACO’s opening night concert.

LACO's "Campus to Concert Hall" program, in its third consecutive year, offers an affordable $25 season pass good for 11 concerts during the 2011-12 season at a geographically diverse group of venues, from the Alex Theatre in Glendale and Ambassador Auditorium in Pasadena to Royce Hall in West Los Angeles and The Broad Stage in Santa Monica.

“The All Access Pass has become one of the hottest tickets in town,” says LACO Executive Director Rachel Fine. “It’s not only affordable but also extremely flexible, which is a real plus for students. The pass provides an opportunity for young people to enjoy performances by world class and innovative artists, whether they're studying for a music career or simply lovers of wonderful music.”

The $25 pass buys one seat (based on availability) to all LACO's Orchestral Series concerts at the Alex Theatre or Royce Hall, all Westside Connections concerts at The Broad Stage in Santa Monica, and the special “Discover Bach’s Magnificat” concert at Pasadena’s Ambassador Auditorium. Also included are invitations to a LACO rehearsal and a complimentary post-concert reception with refreshments and a chance to mingle with musicians. Passholders can reserve tickets up two weeks in advance of a concert. They have the option to purchase three additional student tickets at just $10 each and will receive a special quarterly "Campus to Concert Hall" eLACO newsletter. “Campus to Concert Hall” season passes are on sale now and may be purchased online at www.laco.org, or by calling 213 622 7001.

The "Plugged In" kick-off event on September 20 is free, but reservations are required. Call Maya at 213 622 7001 x 204. For more information, visit www.laco.org/college.
