Lolita Sweet Performing at Yoshi's Oakland September 9, 2008

After performing to a sold out crowd at Yoshi's San Francisco in April, Lolita Sweet is back with her band Raw Suga for two shows (8pm and 10pm) on September 9th at Yoshi's Jack London Square.

San Francisco-born and raised, Lolita Sweet is a singer-songwriter with a “smooth velvet” style that’s front and center on her just-released CD debut, I’m Taking Applications. Working with Grammy-winning producer and writer Claytoven Richardson, Sweet treads a rhythmically assured middle road between old-school soul and neo-soul, between r&b and pop. Bay Area critic Lee Hildebrand calls her “a sophisticated and soulful singer.”
