San Francisco-born and raised, Lolita Sweet is a singer-songwriter with a “smooth velvet” style that’s front and center on her just-released CD debut, I’m Taking Applications. Working with Grammy-winning producer and writer Claytoven Richardson, Sweet treads a rhythmically assured middle road between old-school soul and neo-soul, between r&b and pop.
