Lago presents a special three- or four-course "BUONA PASQUA!" EASTER MENU paired with Italian wines on Easter Sunday, April 4, 2010, in addition to brunch, lunch and dinner, and also served at dinner from Saturday, April 3 through Friday, April 9. The popular Santa Monica restaurant is known for its unique menu, which spotlights the cuisine of Bellagio on Lake Como in Northern Italy.
BUONA PASQUA! begins with GRILLED VEGETABLE ROULADES, HARD-BOILED QUAIL EGGS, HOLLANDAISE SAUCE, FINISHED “AU GRATIN” paired with Prosecco Brut, Zonin, followed by HOUSEMADE FETTUCCINE, SEA URCHIN-CRAB RAGOUT AND MARKET CHERRY TOMATOES, served with Orvieto, Tenuta Salviano, ‘08. Main courses are ALASKAN HALIBUT-YUKON POTATOES “CARTOCCIO-STYLE,” CRISPY RED CABBAGE AND SPINACH QUICHE paired with Pinot Noir, Chalone Vineyards, ‘07 and GRILLED AND SLICED LAMB SIRLOIN, RUTABAGA-PARSLEY PURÉE AND MARSALA BRAISED RAINBOW CHARD paired with Barolo, Reversanti, ‘05.
The three-course menu is $55 with Alaskan halibut and $49 with lamb sirloin; the four-course menu is $69, and all four selections are available à la carte ($15, 19, $39 and $34 respectively). The wine tasting pairing is $24 per person. Tax and gratuity are additional.
Lago also offers a special Easter dessert of TRADITIONAL EASTER CHOCOLATE CHUNK SWEET BREAD, BITTER ALMOND SAUCE for $10, with Vin Santo, Antinori, ’05 as a suggested wine.
