Local Scene Matinee: Pendrifter + Flavian April 21, 2013

Pendrifter is comprised of two parts guitar (Hilary Nicole and Matt Z), one part drums (David Althen), three shots of Herradura, and a whole vat of face melting depravity. Formed in Falls Church at a beer and tacos, hole-in-the-wall joint, these three unlikely friends converged over some warm Bud Light and good ‘ol American bull. They discussed their similar pasts, all having grown up in the great suburban plains of Northern Virginia, and their bleak futures due to conventional employment disdain. Armed with a passion for booty-shaking, neck-breaking, bone-aching grooves and influences ranging from classic rock icons of the 70’s, Led Zeppelin and The Rolling Stones, to 90’s grunge masters, Nirvana and PJ Harvey, the three amigos set to work on finding their sound. After 12 months, thousands of beers, hundreds of sticks, half a dozen drunken fights, and numerous deafening nights, Pendrifter is finally ready to bring their songs to the local cantinas of the DC metro area and are looking forward to seeing familiar and new faces at their shows.
