From a variety of viewpoints - personal, biological, legal - three writers of books about motherhood, infertility, and procreative options discuss what may be the most significant technological revolution of our time.

Liza Mundy is the author of the recently published Everything Conceivable: How Assisted Reproduction is Changing Men, Women, and the World. She is a feature writer at the Washington Post, where she has written articles and essays on family life, popular culture, the arts, and politics. An article she wrote on two deaf women who used a deaf sperm donor to deliberately conceive deaf children was selected by Oliver Sacks for inclusion in The Best American Science Writing 2003. She has won several awards for her essays, profiles, and science writing. She has also written for Slate, Lingua Franca, Redbook, Washington City Paper, and the Washington Monthly.

Peggy Orenstein is the author, most recently, of the memoir, Waiting for Daisy: A Tale of Two Continents, Three Religions, Five Infertility Doctors, An Oscar, An Atomic Bomb, A Romantic Night and One Woman's Quest to Become a Mother (Bloomsbury USA). An internationally recognized writer, editor and speaker about issues affecting girls and women, her previous books include Flux: Women on Sex, Work, Kids, Love and Life in a Half-Changed World (Doubleday/Anchor), and the best-selling School Girls: Young Women, Self-Esteem and the Confidence Gap (Doubleday/Anchor). A contributing writer for the New York Times Magazine, Orenstein has also written for such publications as Vogue, Elle, Discover, More, Glamour, Mother Jones, Salon, Parenting, "O: The Oprah Magazine," and The New Yorker.

Anne Taylor Fleming is a nationally recognized journalist. She is a regular on-camera essayist for The News Hour with Jim Lehrer and the author of two novels: As If Love Were Enough; Marriage: A Duet and a work of nonfiction: Motherhood Deferred: A Woman's Journey. Her work has appeared in the New York Times, Newsweek, The New Yorker, Town & Country, and more. She has been a TV commentator for CBS and a radio commentator for NBC.
