Perform and WIN $2,500

For the 3rd year the Rotary Clubs of Livermore are producing "Livermore's 2011 Nation-wide Talent Competition" . We are really outdoing ourselves this year. We already have contestants from Georgia, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, Texas, Nevada and, of course, California. The talents so far include teen singers, classical opera vocalists, comedians, guitarists, violinists, pianists, cellists, dancers, and Guzheng artists. The ages range from 8 to 74. We are still accepting applications so there will be more.

The 17&Under winner will take home $2,500 and the 18 & Over winner will take home $2,500. A big hit last year was the in-theater text voting so we're going to also have a text vote "Oscar Winner".

The professional judges that will be determining the $2,500 winners this year are Robert Lappa and Cindy Browne Rosefield from Las Positas Performing Arts, Ronald Graham from Graham Piano Studio, film producer Allen Larson, vocal instructor Sally Dunlop and Tiffany Henderson from Tiffany's Dance Academy. The finals show at the Bankhead will be under the direction of Deborah McQueen from smARTSunlimited.

We expect about 150 entries. After initial screenings about 35 will advance to the semi-finals to be held on Saturday, January 29, at the Livermore High School theater. These will be open to the public and you can get a full day pass for $5 at the door. The top 10-12 semi-finalists will advance to the finals that will begin at 7pm on Saturday, February 26, at the Bankhead Theater in Livermore. Tickets are $29/$39/$49 and can be purchased at the Bankhead Box Office or online at www.BankheadTheater.org.

This event is presented by The Valley Times and The Tri-Valley Herald. All net proceeds will go to the community grants and projects performed by the Rotary Clubs of Livermore.
