Live - The Works band at Hard Rock Cafe. The Works was formed when Mihir decided to put together a good old fashioned rock 'n' roll band. He met up with Shannon, whom he had seen before with another band and asked him if he'd like to join him in forming a new band. Shannon agreed and soon Hansel, Shannon's childhood friend joined in on drums. Parthcame along next on the rhythm and lead guitar and the last person to join was Michael whstepped in on bass to complete the band. One of the things that makes The Works work is that they are totally open minded about the songs that they do. Just seeing the bands they cover should give you a clear idea of what that implies. They take on ACDC, Aerosmith, The Beatles,Billy Idol, Buddy Guy, Deep Purple, Def Leppard, The Doors, Eagles, Elvis, Guns n Roses, James Brown, Jimi Hendrix, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Metallica (Bob Seger actually), Motorhead, Ozzy Osbourne, Pink Floyd, Queen, The Rolling Stones, U2, ZZ Top, and even Bryan Adams blues medley!. The Works have just signed an 'exclusive artist deal' with Gibson Guitars and are now one of the select few Gibson supported bands in India!!!! They will now exclusively support and play Gibson guitars. They're the youngest band (they've been around for under a year, .thats what we mean) to get such a deal. They're now looking forward to more big things and also their first album which they should start recording soon!. A bit about band members: Singer Mihir, better known on radiin Mumbai as 'Musicman Mihir', has been supporting Indian bands and rock music on radifor over three years. He has freelanced for numerous magazines and newspapers in the past. He was working with EMI Music India as their Manager Media & Events but has recently left the job to work full time as the singer for The Works! His stage presence and chemistry with the band is something to watch out for in their performances. He is consummate showman and a brilliant frontman for the band. Lead guitarist Shannon has been playing the guitar for over 11 years and has been in a number of bands before The Works came along. He is possibly one of the most flamboyant guitarists on the music scene right now. Don't take anyone's word for it though, watch the band live and decide for yourself. Parthis more of a 'feel musician'. He loves the guitar and it almost becomes an extension of his soul and emotions. He loves playing acoustic guitars, plays mainly rhythm on the electric with The Works, but is also main lead guitarist in his own right. Hansel feels that he was meant to play the drums. He is happiest when he's on his kit and his awesome rhythms and incredible energy ensures that the band and the crowds keep rocking and rolling all the way!. Michael was the last addition to the band. He has been playing the bass professionally for many years now and apart from being an excellent bassist he is also fabulous backing vocalist. He has played with many bands in the past but now is playing full time with The Works!.
