Highspots.com is pleased to announce a special 25th anniversary celebration of the first Starrcade supercard, to be held in Greensboro, NC on Friday December 5th, 2008.

Thanksgiving night 1983 is one of the most famous nights in the history of professional wrestling as Ric Flair captured the World Championship from veteran champion Harley Race in the main event of the very first Starrcade before a sold out Greensboro Coliseum.

For the rest of the 1980's and 1990's Starrcade was the premier pro wrestling event for fans in the mid-Atlantic region, visiting Greensboro, Charlotte, Atlantia, Nashville and Norfolk mutliple times until the final Starrcade in 2000.

Now 25 years since Starrcade 1983, Highspots.com proudly brings some of the superstars from Starrcade's glory days back to Greensboro for a one-night only pro wrestling supercard in the tradition of the events of years past.

16 time World Heavyweight Champion "Nature Boy" Ric Flair will return to Greensboro as part of this very special event that will see Flair back in the same city that provided him some of his greatest professional triumphs. Flair will meet and greet fans who purchase the VIP ticket for the wrestling matches and will also address the crowd as part of the live matches.

25 year rivals the Midnight Express (Bobby Eaton & Stan Lane) and Rock -n- Roll Express (Ricky Morton & Robert Gibson) will face in the evening's main event, a 21-year rematch from Starrcade 1987. Lane, the only pro wrestler ever personally trained by Flair, comes out of retirement for this one time only special match.

Also wrestling at the live event will be two sons of former Starrcade greats, as Ricky Steamboat Jr., and Dustin Rhodes, sons of Ricky the Dragon Steamboat and Dusty Rhodes respectively, will be competing at the live matches. Steamboat is a rookie having just broken into the sport, while Rhodes rose to fame in World Wrestling Entertainment as Goldust.

The Starrcade 25th Anniversary celebration comes to the PROEHLIFIC PARK SPORTS COMPLEX located at 4517 JESSUP GROVE ROAD in GREENSBORO, NC. Ticket and card information are available at highspots.com/ricflair.
