Live - Pink on Pink: Musical Concert. Pinkfraud, Pinkfreud, Pinkfloyd, Pinknoise, Pink on Pink.Pink Noise is a bold attempt. Perhaps even foolhardy, if you're a puritan. But if you are, it is not for you. This quartet, comprising mostly of the first family in Kolkata's rock n roll scene, is an attempt to inject fearlessness (an a healthy shot of it, at that) into the indie scene in India . The pedigree of the members in the band is fearsome. Featuring Jayshree and Gyan Singh on vocals and bass and the redoubtable Amyt Datta on guitars they form the better part of India 's most acclaimed bands Skinny Alley. Having been around for over a decade, Skinny Alley's contribution to the scene has come in the form of 2 full length albums and countless gigs that have wowed audiences across the land. Somewhere along the way, Jivraj made his appearance. Jiver to his friends, he has Gyan and Jay for Dad and Mom, quite a rocking household, you might say. The drums caught his fancy about the time he learned to spell and read, and has been at it ever since. Now, teetering at the edge of his high school years, Jiver lends a light-handed drum work that brings Dave Weckl to mind. Together, Pink Noise find it easy to break down accepted norms, take down time-honoured prejudices of 'how it should be'. In this special concert, 'Pink on Pink' they pay tribute to one of rock n roll's all time greats, Pink Floyd. But they do it with a drastic twist, one that dyed-in-the-wool Floyd fans might find hard to stomach. But there is no denying that this concert is going to be one set of great musicians paying tribute to another set, in their own inimitable style.A Tribute to Pink Floyd with a Merciless Twist.
