Live From The Poemobile: A Lunar New Year Celebration March 3, 2013

Flushing Town Hall celebrates the Lunar New Year with Chinese poetry by Dr. Hsing-Lih Chou and the POEMobile (sponsored by Bowery Arts + Science and City Lore). Chinese classical poetry depicting the Lantern Festival, verse traditions associated with the holiday, such as lantern riddles, as well as contemporary Chinese-American poetry will be highlighted. The performances will be accompanied by projections of the poems in the original Chinese texts and English language translations. Prior to the show, poems will also be projected on the façade of Flushing Town Hall from the roof of the POEMobile. Fun for the whole family!
