Cultural icon Matisyahu, whose blend of Hasidic, reggae and hip hop music has sold millions of records and garnered fans around the world, makes his first visit to the 92nd Street Y to discuss his development as an artist, his latest record, Light and the fusion of his various musical styles. Includes a live performance of several songs!

Matthew Paul Miller, better known by his Hebrew name Matisyahu, is an American Hasidic Jewish reggae musician. Matisyahu is most recognizable for his single "King Without a Crown", which was a successful Top 40 hit. Since 2004, he has released three studio albums as well as one live album, two remix CDs and one DVD featuring a live concert. One of his newest most popular songs is "One Day". Through his career, Matisyahu has worked with Bill Laswell and reggae producers Sly & Robbie.

“Live From New York’s 92nd Street Y” is part of the Shubert’s Speaker Series presented in the informal atmosphere of the Shubert Mezzanine Lounge. The Series is presented by the Shubert’s Red Carpet Club, a new membership program for young, professional members of the community interested in experiencing events at the Shubert while enhancing their business entertainment and networking opportunities.
