Suggested donation $10 to support Lit Quake

More affordable than a trip to Beijing, the fundraiser for Litquake 2008, San Francisco's annual literary festival, celebrates the world of sport in offbeat fashion with an evening of music and spoken word titled "F- Sports."

In the bullpen: such luminaries as writer-performer Beth Lisick, author of "Helping Me Help Myself: One Skeptic, Ten Self-Help Gurus and a Year on the Brink of the Comfort Zone"; Olympic gymnast-turned-author Jennifer Sey, whose book, "Chalked Up: Inside Elite Gymnastics' Merciless Coaching, Overzealous Parents, Eating Disorders and Elusive Olympic Dreams," came out last month; and poet and soccer coach Alan Black, author of the new book "Kick the Balls: An Offensive Urban Odyssey."

The evening will be emceed by Count Dante. Naked Lady Wrestlers will perform their signature brand of "punk rock, professional wrestling and televangelism," according to Litquake co-founder Jack Boulware, author of the forthcoming punk history "Journey to the End of the East Bay," who will be on hand to make introductions.
