Girly-pop singer Lisa Loeb began her career the old-fashioned way--with a hit song. After she'd recorded a couple of homemade cassettes, actor/pal Ethan Hawke brought her song, "Stay (I Miss You)", to his 1994 film, "Reality Bites." The unsigned artist from Dallas suddenly found herself with a No. 1 single. Since then, Loeb then recorded two albums, 1995's "Tails" and 1997's "Firecracker," the latter featuring the hit single, "I Do." The singer is known for her eclectic collaborations, including Randy Scruggs and Dweezil Zappa. When she attended Brown University, she played in a local band alongside singer-songwriter Duncan Sheik and Ida's Liz Mitchell. In 2002, Loeb ended her 5-year album hiatus with two releases: "Cake And Pie," and "Hello Lisa" (Artemis).
