1601 N Clark St
Chicago, Illinois 60614

Step onto the gallery-sized floor map of 'Lincoln Park Block by Block' and you'll encounter the history, culture, people, and places that make up this dynamic neighborhood. For 150 years, Lincoln Park residents and visitors have experienced some of the city's most historic events--from the opening of Chicago's first public beach in 1895 to the riots of the late 1960s. People have lived, worked, and played here, and in doing so, they have left their marks on Chicago. In the gallery, you can take a ride in a swan boat from the park's South Pond. Marvel at a chair that was buried by its owner in his yard to save it from the Great Fire of 1871. Listen to Studs Terkel tour the neighborhood in a station wagon. See a death mask of John Dillinger, who lived and was killed in Lincoln Park. Contribute your own Lincoln Park stories to the exhibition and pick up an activity card to continue your exploration of the neighborhood beyond the Museum walls.
