Author Bryan S. Bush discusses the story of the close friendship that Abraham Lincoln had with Joshua and James Speed. Both men were dedicated to the Union, followed different paths, and help secure Kentucky for the Union. The story of this friendship also reveeals information about the struggle between Union loyalists and Confederate sympathizers, as well as the struggle for abolition and emancipation.
