Meditation and Mindfulness in the Garden April 27, 2013 9:30am-2:30pm
This workshop will offer an opportunity to take our practice into the world in the natural setting of the garden at the height of spring. As we practice moment to moment awareness, we have the chance to experience our own mind in the space of everything around us, all of that which is not separate from who we are. We will pack our own lunch and come to Soji Zen Center by 9:30 am to sit a period of zazen together. After a short introduction to essential writing and short verse form, we will drive together to Chanticleer Gardens in Wayne. There we will engage in a collective walk through the garden to point out some of the treasures in the landscape. Each participant will then choose a place to sit or stand and settle in the flow of moments in one space. After a picnic lunch together, we will return to Soji Zen Center to share some of our written pieces and have a council circle to check in before heading home. Pre-registration is required: $25- non-members includes admission to Chanticleer Gardens. e-mail; www.sojizencenter.com or call Shoki at 215-242-1750
