This will be the first installment of the Life 101 series organized by the Bay Area Carnegie Mellon Alumni Chapter's Young Alumni Outreach Committee, which focuses on events that have value for our entire community, but are generally tailored to the interests of those within ten years of graduation.

We have secured a leading financial planning and investment expert, David Plotkin of John Hancock Investments, to be our guest speaker. David has 32 years in the investement management and financial planning industry, and specializes in market awareness and financial security seminars for young professionals.

Topics will include:
• Market conditions and their causes
• Taking advantage of tax changes in 2009 and 2010
• Reducing risk and increasing returns in your portfolio
