Renowned European actors Dominique Frot (Sarah's Key) and Alexander Muheim star in this world-premiere dramatized reading of the legendary correspondence between two great twentieth-century poets, Paul Celan and Ingeborg Bachmann. Adapted and directed by Hans Peter Cloos, Let Us Find the Words dramatizes a tragic, yet profound love story conducted across the European continent from 1948-1961. In their writing, Celan and Bachmann attempted to come to terms with the horrors of war and to understand how poetry is possible after Auschwitz. Script adapted from Correspondence: Ingeborg Bachmann & Paul Celan translated by Wieland Hoban, Seagull Books, 2010.

Co-produced by the Cultural Services of the Consulate General of France, by the Goethe-Institut San Francisco and by the Goethe-Institut Boston, funded by the French Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs and the German Federal Foreign Office in the framework of the 50th Anniversary of the Elysee Treaty, co-presented by the Consulate General of France and the Consulate General of Germany, additional support by the Consulate General of Switzerland in San Francisco and Swissnex Boston.
