The most successful solo artist of the Girl Group era of the '60s, Lesley Gore set herself apart with a string of Quincy Jones-produced chart-topping hits including 'It's My Party,' 'You Don't Own Me' and 'Judy's Turn to Cry.' She introduced the world to a brilliant artist with uncanny pop instincts and an independent spirit, and was a full-fledged star by age 16, subsequently nominated for an Oscar for co-writing 'Out Here on My Own' with her brother for the movie 'Fame.'
