Lerwick - Shetland Armed Forces Day Parade & Civic Event June 20, 2009

105 Regt RA(V) are proud to have been given the responsibility for delivering an event based around AFD, in the Shetland Islands. The event will take place on Sat 20 June and consist of a parade of Regular, TA, Veterans, Cadets, Civilian Pipes and Drums and The Shetland Brass Band, through Lerwick. This will be followed by a flag raising ceremony and gun firing from the battlements of Fort Charlotte. The final activity will be a civic reception which will be held in the TAC. The timings for the event are as follows:
1200-1215- Drum Head Service.
1215-1230 - Form up parade outside the TAC.
1230-1245 - March from TAC to Pier Head.
1245-1255- Halt for Civic Acknowledgement.
1255-1310 - March Back to TA Centre.
1310-1330 - Detachments front on two Operational Guns.
1330 - Raising of the AFD Flag/Firing of the Guns from the ramparts of Fort Charlotte.
1345-1530 - Lunch/Civic Reception.
