Leroy Pierson is a St. Louis treasure. Years of single-mindedly setting out to learn all the African-American songs ever written have made him the most literate, easy-to-understand blues historian and singer ever. When you add to that his guitar style, his excellent voice and his genial stage manner, there is no better way anywhere to hear the blues.
