Leon Redbone can croon like Bing Crosby, growl like Louis Armstrong, fingerpick the guitar like Blind Blake and scat sing a trumpet solo that recalls the great Bix Beiderbecke. Actor and songwriter Ronny Cox showcases a wonderful acoustic mix of folk, western, jazzy-bluesy and just plain cornball stuff. With a small, dazzling array of multi-instrumentalists, the music is eclectic... funny...touching and always compelling. Cox showcases an original, sophisticted lyric-driven folky sound, and the stories that accompany these songs are something else entirely.
