Leo Kottke is widely known for his innovative fingerpicking style of guitar which draws influences from blues, jazz and folk music. Kottkes 1971 major-label debut Mudlark positioned him somewhat uneasily in the singer/songwriter vein, despite his own wishes to remain an instrumental performer. In the liner notes to 1972s 6 and 12 String Guitar, he even described his own voice as geese farts on a foggy day. In concert, Kottke combines humorous monologues with vocal and instrumental selections from his career, creating a concert experience that will appeal equally to long-time fans and new listeners.
